Riyadh - Mubasher: Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz officially inaugurated the new operations base of Flynas Company at Abha International Airport, marking a strategic milestone in the airline’s expansion plans across the Kingdom.
The launch of the new base represents a key step in the airline’s strategy to establish an integrated national operational network spanning various regions of Saudi Arabia, according to a press release.
With the addition of Abha, flynas becomes the first Saudi carrier to operate from five major bases across the Kingdom: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina, and Abha.
The move underscores the airline’s commitment to fostering domestic and international air connectivity while supporting economic and tourism growth in promising destinations, particularly the Aseer region.
As part of the first phase of operations from Abha, flynas announced direct flights to 11 domestic and international destinations. The network includes six international routes, with Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul, and Addis Ababa operating year-round, while Kuwait and Trabzon will be served seasonally.
The new routes complement the airline’s existing domestic network linking Abha with Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, and Tabuk.
Meanwhile, the number of domestic and international destinations connected to Abha is expected to gradually double during the next phase of expansion.
Currently, flynas operates 156 routes connecting more than 80 domestic and international destinations across 38 countries, with over 2,000 weekly flights.
Since its launch in 2007, the airline has transported more than 110 million passengers and is targeting 165 destinations as part of its future growth strategy in line with Vision 2030.
At the end of March 2026, the net profit attributable to the shareholders of flynas reached SAR 117.90 million, an annual drop of 20.26% from SAR 147.85 million.
